The children's grandfather, James Tucker, said the kids ranged in age from 6 months to 7 years old. He said their mother, Tammie Tucker Wilfong, was injured in the fire, but was able to escape from the fire and run to his home to call 911. Wilfong was taken to UK Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

James Tucker said the one-story home the family lived in did not have a lot of heat sources, and they depended on an electric space heater. Fire officials have not yet released a cause of the blaze.
