Fireworks Ban Approved In Lexington

The Urban County Council unanimously approved a fireworks ban Thursday night.
The skies over lexington may be a lot quieter come next fourth of july. The city has officially banned the sale and use of aerial fireworks. The law does not affect large fireworks displays such as the ones we watch after legends games. Small fireworks like sparklers and stink bombs are still legal. Anyone caught setting off the banned fireworks will face a $250 fine for a first offense, and it only gets more expensive from there for each subsequent offense.
