Firefighters Rescue Cat From Lexington Fire

Lexington firefighters were able to rescue a person's cat from an apartment this afternoon.

The fire department was called Wednesday afternoon after someone saw smoke coming from one an apartment on Transylvania Park.

Fortunately, the fire was contained to the bedroom of one unit.

Other units did have some smoke and water damage.
 
Firefighters said a total of five people were displaced due to the fire.

No one was at home in the apartment where the fire started.

The cause is still under investigation.
