Firefighters say a fire in Lexington Tuesday night forced some people from their homes.

It happened on the 100 block of Withers Avenue at a house converted into three apartment units.

Firefighters say a man called 9-1-1 to report the fire.

There was smoke, water and fire damage.

No one was hurt, but investigators say those people who lived in the building were not able to return home.

The Red Cross is finding them a temporary place to stay.
