Fire Destroys Anniston Drive Home

A man woke up Friday night to the smell of smoke and his house on fire, according to Lexington Firefighters, who put out the house fire on Anniston Drive just before midnight on Friday.

Firefighters say only one man was in the house and he got out safely.

A neighbor, not knowing he had made it out, went in after him. The neighbor was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

There is no official cause of the fire yet, which remains under investigation.


Police say there wasn't a working smoke detector in the home.
