Fayette County Schools Superintendent Tom Shelton, in a letter to staff on Wednesday, offered to take a 5-percent pay cut and also warned of possible staff layoffs to help make up a $20 million budget deficit.
Fayette County Schools Superintendent Tom Shelton, in a letter to staff on Wednesday, warned of possible layoffs to help make up an estimated $20-million budget shortfall.

Superintendent Shelton also offered to take a 5-percent pay cut.

Public records showed that Shelton makes $254,000 a year.
