Fayette School Supt. To Ask Board To Use Presidents Day As Makeup Day

Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Tom Shelton is expected to ask the school board to use Presidents Day, February 17, and March 21 as snow makeup days.
Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Tom Shelton is expected to ask the school board at its meeting on Monday to use Presidents Day, February 17, and March 21 as snow makeup days.

Students are scheduled to be out on March 21 so teachers could attend a regional Kentucky Education Association meeting.

If the board approves the proposed changes, the last day of school would be Thursday, June 5, according to the district.

If the board doesn't approve Shelton's request, classes would end Tuesday, June 10, if there aren't any more snow days this winter.

A district spokeswoman said there had been no discussion of eliminating spring break the first week of April to make up for any snow days.
