The Office of Fayette County Sheriff received several phone calls Friday from people who said they had received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the caller told people they owed a fine in excess of $400 for failing to report for jury duty and if they didn't immediately buy a money card to pay the fine, they would be arrested.

This is a scam!  Don't fall for it.

The Office of Sheriff would never call people demanding they buy money cards in lieu of being arrested.

Anyone who received one of these bogus calls should immediately call the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff at 859-252-1771.
