Father Returns From Afghanistan For Birth Of First Son

Major Robert S. Smither is on leave for two weeks, and plans to be there for the birth of his first son and one of his daughter's birthdays.
United State Military Policeman Major Robert S. Smither returned home to central Kentucky on Saturday from Afghanistan.

Major Smither is on a two week leave, and in that time plans to be home for the birth of his first son, Robert Smiher III.

Smither's wife Stacey and his three daughters Annamarie, Jacqueline and Sarah greeted their dad at the Bluegrass Airport with plenty of hugs, kisses and tears.

It had been seven months since the family lost saw Maj. Smither.

His tour of duty will finish up in the fall of 2012.
