Father Arrested For Child Abuse

A 6-month-old girl from Jessamine County is in UK hospital, after suffering serious head injuries that Jessamine County Sheriff's Deputies said were caused by her father.

With help from Lexington Police, Jessamine County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Eyon McCann, 32, of Nicholasville, at UK hospital Tuesday night.   

McCann is in the Jessamine County Detention Center.

He is charged with criminal abuse of a child under 12. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.

Police said the little girl's injuries are non-life threatening.

McCann is expected to be in court Monday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m.
