Richie Farmer Pleads Guilty

The former UK Basketball player plead guilty in federal court Friday to misusing state funds for his own personal use.
Former UK Basketball Player Richie Farmer plead guilty to the misuse of government funds while serving as the state's agriculture commissioner on Friday.

In a prepared statement to the Federal Court in Frankfort, Farmer admitted to using more than 140-thousand dollars from the the Department of Agriculture for his own personal use.

The former UK shooting guard struck a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty and serve a prison sentence of 21 to 27 months, and pay more than 120-thousand dollars in restitution to the commonwealth.

US District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove accepted Farmer's guilty plea, but will review the plea deal before handing down a sentence, which is scheduled for January 14th, 2014.
