Cats were ready to chomp the Gators Saturday night as the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team took on the University of Florida at Rupp Arena.

“This game is going to be incredible,” said Rob Carter as he got ready to watch the game.

It was the ESPN College Game Day spot for the week and some die-hard fans even camped out to get a spot.

As part of Game Day, The Travelocity Roaming Gnome stopped in Lexington.  He wouldn’t tell ABC 36 who he was cheering for but he said the home team usually has the advantage.

In his blue shirt, the Roaming Gnome fit in nicely in the Big Blue Nation, but the color orange stood out.

“Go gators, it's a great day to be a Florida Gator,” said Norman Caldwell, a former point guard for UF who now lives in Lexington.

The Bluegrass isn’t swamp weather either.

“Yeah I'm not for it at all, I like the warmth,” said Mike Wood, a Gator fan visiting from Florida.

“They're probably cold, real cold, and so will they're shooting, they're shooting will be real cold too,” said Carter. “I think these kids are finally starting to come together.”
