As soon as the championship game ended Monday night, fans started lining up at Rupp Arena for tickets to Tuesday's celebration event.

Tickets were handed out at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

As soon as the UK basketball team left the airport, they traveled by bus to Rupp Arena.

The team arrived at Rupp Arena around 3:00 in the afternoon to 3,600 cheering students and fans.

Families said they wanted to congratulate the team on an amazing run in the tournament and give them encouragement.

Lexington Mayor Jim Gray and Governor Steve Beshear were also on hand to show their appreciation for how the team represented Lexington and Kentucky.
