More than fifty family, friends and police officers filled a parole hearing board room Monday in Frankfort to support keeping the killer of a Lexington Police officer behind bars.

Glenn Doneghy is eligible for parole in April after serving twenty percent of his sentence for manslaughter and assault.

Doneghy was convicted of running over and killing Officer Bryan Durman in 2010.

Durman's wife Brandy Durman presented a petition to the parole board with more than eleven-thousand signatures asking that the board keep Doneghy behind bars.

Durman's mother, two of his sisters and fellow officers also testified in the hearing about life without Durman.

Many on the board appeared sympathetic to the Durmans.

Some members even said Doneghy deserves to stay behind bars.

Glenn Donegy will have his official parole hearing on Tuesday via video conference from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
