September 11th hits very close to home for Morehead and Rowan County.

Edward Earhart served in the US Navy.

The Kentucky native was killed in the attack on the Pentagon.

Family and friends gathered at his grave Wednesday.

They read a poem in his memory, and also left an Ale-8 at his grave site.

It was his favorite drink.

Earhart was 26 when he died.
 
He was a meteorologist.
