FCPS Schedules Two Public Forums On Attendance Zones

Fayette County Public Schools scheduled a public hearing on June 12 and June 26 to get feedback as the district prepares to redraw school boundaries.
Fayette County Public Schools scheduled two public hearings in June to get community feedback as the district prepares to redraw school boundaries.

The two hearings are:
  • June 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Imani Family Life Center Inc., 1555 Georgetown Road
  • June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at a location to be determined
Each forum will begin with a presentation and overview, followed by facilitated small-group discussions to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be heard.

A member of the school zone committee will sit in each small group session to hear the feedback directly, and the groups will share out before the end of the forum.

Everyone is invited and welcome to attend.

FCPS also encourages people to use www.fcps.net/letstalk, where each comment submitted online is shared with all of the committee members.

Relevant information is also posted at www.fcps.net/zones.

This is the first time in more than 10-years that FCPS has considered such widespread changes to the attendance zones.

This is being done in advance of opening three new schools.
