The Fraternal Order of Police says Lexington needs more officers.
The F.O.P. told the Urban County Council Tuesday that crime has gone up as the number of officers has gone down since 2007. The vice president of the F.O.P.'s Bluegrass Lodge #4 says there were 593 officers then, but there are 87 fewer officers today.
He says there has also been a 20 percent increase in crime since then.
