Experts Predict Modest Budget Growth

A panel of economists predicts modest budget growth in Kentucky over the next couple of years.
Kentucky state government should expect modest revenue growth over the next couple of years, according to a state panel.

The Consensus Forecasting Group is made up mostly of economists from state universities. Wednesday, the panel predicted General Fund revenue of nine billion dollars for the remainder of the current fiscal year, with $9.2 billion and $9.5 billion predicted for the next two years.

Governor Beshear and lawmakers will use those numbers to plan state budgets.
