Elderly Man Assaulted While Working On Mail Box

The Georgetown Police is investigating an elderly man that was assaulted while at his mail box.

According to police the assault happened just before 11 a.m. Thursday morning on Williamsburg Lane. Officials say while an elderly man was working on his mail box when a man threw a rock at the back of his head and stole his wallet.

The elderly man was injured and had to be taken to the hospital, he is expected to recover.

The Georgetown Police Department called out K-9 units to track the scent of the suspect. After about an hour they located the suspect in an apartment. He was immediately taken into custody. His name has not been released.
