The Eastern Kentucky University rugby team is suspended until 2014.

EKU released a statement Wednesday that an appeal by the team to throw out the suspension was denied.

School officials said the rugby team was suspended for hazing after someone found blood in a freshman player's dorm room.

EKU officials said the student had been paddled by team members with a two-by-four named 'Betsy'.

The university said there wasn't any additional information presented by the team in the appeal that would end its suspension.
