EF-2 Tornadoes Confirmed In Morgan, Russell Counties

A storm damage team from the National Weather Service office in Jackson Kentucky has confirmed an EF-2 tornado in Morgan County.

The tornado touchdown occurred about six miles southwest of West Liberty near the Grassy Creek area. The tornado continued to the Malone area about three miles south of West Liberty.

Winds were estimated to be around 120 MPH. The most damage appears to be a residential structure in the Malone area. More information will be coming soon about this confirmed tornado.

An EF-2 tornado has also been confirmed in Russell County. This tornado touched down north of Russell Springs in northern Russell County near the junction of Highway 127 and Mount Union Road.  The tornado then tracked northeast through northern Russell County and into southern Casey County where it lifted around Windsor.  Additional information will be available after the survey is complete.
