A vacant apartment in a duplex caught fire Monday afternoon and prompted the occupants of the neighboring apartment to evacuate, according to Lexington firefighters.

They said the fire broke out near the Huntsville and Mariette Drive intersection shortly before 5pm.

Fire crews said they managed to confine the flames to a bedroom and put them out fairly quickly.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.

No one was hurt.
