Dunbar Baseball Team and Fans Pay Tribute to Travis Gaines

Players and fans all wear Gaines's number 19 jersey and shirts to support their injured player.
     The Paul Laurence Dunbar Baseball Team all wore number 19 jerseys prior to their home opener Tuesday night.

     Meanwhile fans sported t-shirts saying "Rally for Travis," as they watched their team take the field without their injured first baseman.

    Travis Gaines was injured while diving in the ocean on a team trip to Florida over Spring Break.

    Gaines had to remain behind in Florida while the rest of the team returned home.

    Those that know Gaines well and have been in constant contact with him say he's in high spirits and is loving the attention he's getting which includes 500 new followers on Instagram.

    Fans and family are hoping Gaines will be able to return home and soon and see his team play in person.
