A Lexington man left a fire and a car behind after a crash in Lexington.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Thursday on New Circle Road, near Alumni Drive.

Police said the car hit the barrier in the median, caught fire then continued rolling, leaving burning grass in its trail.

Officers said another driver saw the car on fire and pulled the driver from the car… but when he came to, he ran away.

There’s no word on whether he was hurt, why he ran off or what caused the crash.
