Governor Steve Beshear has announced that Kentucky's horse breeding farms have been added to businesses that will be eligible to seek federal relief from disasters affecting agriculture.
Beshear had been urging the U.S. Department of Agriculture to reconsider its disaster-relief polices to include horse farms.
They will now be eligible in the future to seek assistance from the Federal Emergency Conservation Program.
