Disabled Veteran To Receive New Home

Matt Bradford, a Marine who lost both of his legs and eye sight in Iraq is receiving a new home thanks to helpingahero.org
A Marine who lost both of his legs and sight after an explosion while serving in Iraq will soon have a new home.

The groundbreaking for Matt Bradford's new home was in Nicholasville Thursday morning.

He is receiving the house from an organization called www.helpingahero.org.

The organization helps veterans who have been seriously injured in war.

Matt said his current home in Lexington is two stories, which makes it hard for him to get around, but thinks his new home will be good for his family.

"I think with this home we're going to be closer together, spend more time together, and we more of a family," said Bradford.

Matt's home is being built to make it easier for him to get around with his disabilities.

Each room will have different wall textures so he can always tell where he is at.
