U.S. Marshals caught one of Lexington's most wanted fugitives in Wyoming Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals say the search heated up recently in Colorado.

"He was seen in plain sight by somebody that was a victim prior about two weeks ago," said Loren Carl, U.S. Marshals Service.

The Marshals say Buckley had multiple ID's, addresses, and changed his look.  They say he visited West Virginia, New York, Georgia, Colorado, and Wyoming.

Buckley wore short hair and a close shave before going on the run.

Wednesday, authorities found him with long hair and a beard.

The search for Buckley began last July.  He left town before a jury returned with a guilty verdict on a rape charge.  The U.S. Marshals say the search ended with Buckley acting like a coward.

"He failed his country, and he failed the public, and he failed the state.  He ran, which to me, is a cowardly act.  So, he was a coward when he ran yesterday too," said U.S. Deputy Marshal Craig Smith.

The Marshals would not reveal the details of Buckley's capture, but they think he had help.

"We do want to charge other people," said Smith.

"He was moving about, and he had people assisting him," said Carl.

The Marshals have a message for anybody Buckley harmed.

"He's caught, and they're safe," said Carl.

The Marshals do not know exactly when Buckley will be back in Lexington.  A Wyoming jail says Buckley was so uncooperative they couldn't even take a mug shot.
