Deputy And Dog Injured in Boyle County Crash

A deputy, his canine partner and others were hurt in a three-car crash Tuesday in Boyle County.

State police said it was near Perryville Road and the Danville Bypass around 5:30.

Deputy Casey McCoy went to the hospital but his injuries are said to be minor.

A photograph from The Advocate Messenger showed the police dog being checked out by a vet at the accident scene. Investigators said it appeared Niki, the K-9, had a minor eye injury.

The total number of people hurt is still unclear. State police are still investigating.
