When the truck became stuck, deputies say the man behind the wheel jumped out and ran off.

The sheriff's office says that after a short chase and brief struggle, deputies arrested 38-year-old John P. Cowan of London.

He's facing several charges including Reckless Driving, Fleeing Or Evading Police , 2nd Degree (in a vehicle), Fleeing Or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (on Foot), Resisting Arrest, No Insurance and Possession of a Radio That Sends or Receives Police Messages.

Deputies say Cowan told them that he ran because he thought he had a suspended driver's license.
