It looks like the fight to save an historic, pre-Civil War mansion in Bardstown is over.

Demolition work is set to start Monday on the plantation house known as 'Anatok'.

Preservationists went to court last winter to save the property on the Bethlehem High School campus.

The school and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville gave them till the end of April to raise money for a renovation.

But the effort came up short.
