Traffic was diverted on I-64 in Scott County Thursday night after a deadly motorcycle crash.

Deputies say a car headed east lost a tire around mile marker 68.

They say the tire went across the median and into westbound traffic.

Deputies say two motorcycle drivers swerved to avoid the tire and crashed.

Neither was wearing a helmet.

The driver who lost the tire was not hurt.

Westbound traffic was backed up for miles while investigators were at the scene of the wreck.
