A Danville pawn shop is back in business but this isn’t what people expected.

The owner had already auctioned off the merchandise and was trying to sell the building but couldn’t.  He said it might be because of the store’s history.

It’s the same place where Michael and Angela Hockensmith were murdered back in September along with Daniel Smith.

Instead of selling, the owner is planning a grand re-opening.

“People come in, ‘oh my gosh doesn't even look like the same place’ and that's what I wanted to happen,” said Steve Divine, owner of ABC Gold, Games & More about his remodel.

It’s been nearly six months since the triple homicides inside the store.

“You know the memory will always be there,” said Divine.

Divine sold the inventory and tried to sell the building but he said he couldn’t get a fair price because of what happened inside.

“It will never go away they will always be in my heart but each day gets a little bit easier,” said Divine.  “I get the feeling that Mike and Angela are still looking down on me.”

Many shelves are still empty.  Divine is now re-collecting inventory to stock the shop he originally built with his dad.

“When I look around I say there's part of my dad still here,” said Divine who is now rebuilding the shop with his two sons and carrying on the tradition.

“Time moves on,” said Divine.  “You either move on with it or you might as well dig you a six foot hole. So I decided to move on.”

He’s hoping history doesn’t repeat itself.

“God forbid, I hope not but we're a little bit more prepared this time,” said Divine.

ABC Gold, Games & More is now buying:

Gold and silver

Silver coins

Coin sets

iPads/iPhones 4 and 5

Beats audio

DVD’s and video games

Case knives

PS3, PS4, XBOX One

Tools (not rusted)

Will consider other items not listed on a case by case basis

Divine said he hopes to have the store completely up and running by mid-March.

Church pastor Kenneth Allen Keith is changed with the murders inside the store.

He has pleaded not guilty.
