A Versailles man is accused of trying to sell his 14-year-old daughter to a man.

Police reports say Zeferino Ponce was negotiating the sale with Rufino Alejandro Vazquez.

Ponce reportedly left his daughter at an apartment with Vazquez so that Vazquez could have sexual relations with her before deciding whether he would buy her.

Police documents say a neighbor called authorities after seeing the girl run from the apartment.

Ponce's charged with human trafficking.

Vazquez is charged with first degree sexual abuse.
