Crews searched an area of North Elkhorn Creek following a tip into a 2010 murder investigation.

Troopers said Monday’s search was the second time crews have searched the area but they recently got new information that evidence could be in the water related to the murder of retired Scott County school bus driver, Glenda Sue Jones, 68.

Jones was found dead in her Sadieville home February 4, 2010 according to police.  Investigators said she died from blunt force trauma to her head.

Scott County fire crews and the Lexington Fire dive team searched a 50 by 60 foot area for about four hours using divers and sonar technology.

Troopers wouldn’t say what object they were looking for, just that it was evidence in the case.

Crews said they didn’t find anything.

Nicholas Willinger and Ciji Jefferson have both been arrested in Jones’ murder.
