Crews Begin Work On Phoenix Park

Third District Councilmember Diane Lawless said the changes will help make the park safer and more pleasant.
Work is beginning today to improve Phoenix Park in Lexington.

Third District Councilmember Diane Lawless said the changes will help make the park safer and more pleasant.

The Lexington Public Library, Anderson Communities Inc. who own Park Place Apartments, and the city are working together to replace uneven pavement, worn out electric wiring, and diseased trees.

New furniture and new plants will be added.

Jerry Hancock, director of Lexington Parks & Recreation said the work should be complete before the Fourth of July Celebration.
