A few weeks ago, ABC 36 News told you that traffic deaths were up from 2011 to 2012. Now, Kentucky is behind 2011 -- a little bit.

State police say 89 people have died in crashes from January first, through February 26th. During the same time in 2011, the number was 90.

Police say of the 89 people who've died this year, 43 were not wearing seat belts. In 14 deaths, alcohol is suspected.
