A Wayne County couple could face 20 years in prison after their conviction Monday in the death of a toddler.

A jury in Monticello found Kayla Lord and Jared Futrell guilty of wanton murder in the 2011 death of Lord's son, 17-month-old Staten Stephenson.

The sentencing is set for March 13th.

The two claimed they found the boy unresponsive.

The prosecution said he'd been beaten from head to toe.
