Council On Postsecondary Education Offers Free GED Testing

Kentucky Adult Education will be paying the fee on behalf of test takers from May 15th to July 31st.
Kentuckians taking the GED during the next few months won't have to pay the usual test fee.

Kentucky Adult Education, a division of the Council on Postsecondary Education will be paying the fee on behalf of test takers from May 15th to July 31st.

The GED test allows adults who didn't finish high school to be certified for attaining high school-level skills.

The test usually costs $60 for a paper test or $120 for a computer-based test, but the Council says they want to pay those fees so as many people as possible can finish the test especially considering the changes that will happen January 1st.

About 16,000 people in the state have started taking the test but haven't finished and the scores of all tests in progress will expire on that day.
