Costco Will Open In Lexington Friday

Costco is on schedule to open a membership warehouse in Lexington on Friday.
 
The warehouse is located at the corner of Man O' War Boulevard and Polo Club Boulevard in the Hamburg business corridor.

The new store is 159,000 square feet.

On Thursday night they will have an open house where hundreds of vendors will be there giving out free samples.

Costco says no one will be able to buy anything until Friday.

It will be just the second Costco in Kentucky.  The other store is in Louisville.

The Lexington Costco will feature among other things, a gas station, fresh bakery, fresh meat, produce and deli items with rotisserie chicken.

There will also be an optical department, a 1-hour photo, pharmacy, tire center, hearing aid center, food court along with wine and liquor sales.

Costco is listed as the second largest retailer in the country.

There are 457 Costco's in the United States and 641 worldwide.

Costco has 71-million cardholders throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia and Japan.

The Costco home office is located in Issaquah, Washington.

The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol COST.
