Some Republicans have blasted the plan because it moves some Republican-leaning Counties out of his district and adds some Democratic-leaning areas.

State Senator Alice Forgy Kerr called the plan 'the Ben Chandler Lifetime Employment Act.'

Chandler disputes that and says, "She can say whatever she wants. Everybody has to run every 2 years, and there's nothing I'm aware of that's a lifetime appointment, or a lifetime employment act."

Chandler went on to say, "Everybody involved gave up something. It was a compromise, and I'm not happy with all of it either, but what I have to do is, take my district as I find it, and represent the people who live in the district with the best of my ability.

The Congressman says while some Republicans might complain about the redistricting plan, the Republican-led State Senate passed it.
