The Commonwealth Stadium 'facelift' is a big step closer to reality.

The Kentucky House Thursday okayed legislation that would allow Kentucky colleges and universities to issue their own bonds.

They could then use the money on construction projects.

For UK, that would mean $110 million to renovate the football stadium.

It would mean other projects for UK, and other schools as well.

The vote Thursday was 97 to one.

The bill now goes to the Kentucky Senate.

Governor Beshear supports this legislation.
