Commonwealth Prepped to Battle Potholes

State road crews will spend Wednesday and Thursday evenings patching potholes on Interstate 64.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be patching potholes on I-64 Wednesday and Thursday evening.

Crews will be working from 6pm until midnight both nights.

A cabinet spokesperson said the state spent about $2 million last season on road repairs, and was close to that total already this season with more work to come.

Persistent snow and ice kept road crews from being able to patch potholes.

There is a strict budget on how much money can be spent on road repairs, including potholes.

The cabinet spokesperson said any extra money spent fixing potholes would mean less money for other projects like pipe repairs or tree trimming.
