A college baseball team honored a fallen Kentucky police officer over the weekend.

Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis was shot and killed in May.

No one's been arrested.

Ellis played baseball at the University of the Cumberlands.

The team retired his number '5' this past weekend.

A sign was unveiled on the right field wall.

And the head coach announced the creation of the 'Jason Ellis Man of Character Award.'

It will be given out annually.

Ellis set records for batting average, hits, home runs, doubles and runs scored while playing for the university.
