Another candidate for has put in his name as a potential challenger to congressman Andy Barr.

On Friday  afternoon Lexington attorney Michael Coblenz announced his run for the Sixth Congressional District seat.

The former member of the Air Force ran unsuccessfully for the State Legislature back in 2010.

Coblenz says changing the political gridlock in Washington will be his top priority.

He says the best way to do that is to have a more influential third party in Congress.

Coblenz will run against long-time education advocate Elisabeth Jensen for the Democratic spot.
