Coaches and Trainers Keeping Close Eye on the Heat

Coaches and Trainers Keeping Close Eye on the Heat

One high school football player has already passed out from the heat.
It's been one of the hottest summers in recent memory and now sports teams are beginning their practices, putting concerns about heat stroke and dehydration to the forefront of coaches and trainers' minds.

One football player at a Georgetown camp passed out due to the heat earlier this week.

Schools in Kentucky are required to take mandatory training to notice signs and help prevent heat related issues on the field.

Most teams now practice either early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the heat.

The National Federation of State High Schools now offers a free online course on heat stroke.
