Clouds and drizzle will linger today, and conditions will not change much from hour to hour as temperatures hover in the lower 40s all day.  After a high of 43, we will cool down to 28 tonight and some partial clearing will begin.  Late at night, look out for patchy freezing fog that could produce some black ice, especially in valleys.  Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will both be beautiful days, with partly sunny skies.  Most of the clouds will be in southern Kentucky, closer to the storm system that we wrestled with all week in the forecasting world.  It is now clear that the storm system should pass to the south, so even southern Kentucky should stay dry.  Most of Monday will be dry, but widespread rain will return on Monday night and into Tuesday morning, and that may be our only hope for the 0.61" we need to tie the all time record for wettest year in Lexington.  A few snowflakes may follow the rain on the back end of that system, and we'll be back to bright, partly sunny and seasonable weather on Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
