Clark County Receives $575,000 For Road Resurfacing

Clark County was approved for $575,000 in resurfacing funds from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to repair several sections of roads that were damaged by harsh weather last winter.

“Last winter’s inclement weather took its toll on roads across the state,” said state Sen. R.J. Palmer II, of Winchester. “With so many highways in need of repair, I am glad to see these resurfacing projects moving forward to improve driving conditions in Clark County. I will continue to work to bring money to my district for much needed infrastructure upgrades and hope more funds become available in the near future.”

“Clark County roads, like those in many other counties, suffered greatly this winter,” said Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham. “I would like to thank Governor Beshear and Senator R.J. Palmer for recognizing this additional need and working hard to secure the funding we need to provide good roads for our citizens.”

The sections of roads total more than nine miles of resurfacing and include:

 

·         A 2.32 mile section of Old Boonesboro Road from KY 1923 to mile point 3.6

·         A 2.05-mile section of Four Mile Road from KY 627 to mile point 5.6

·         A 0.8-mile section of Red River Road from KY 974 to KY 89

·         A 0.75-mile section of Old Stone Church Road from Wexford Drive to mile point 0.75

·         A 0.72-mile section of Calmes Boulevard from KY 627 to Lafayette Boulevard

·         A 0.57-mile section of Old Boonesboro Road from KY 1923 to KY 627

·         A 0.54-mile section of Gawthrop Drive from KY 627 to mile point 0.54

·         A 0.33-mile section of Clubhouse Drive from KY 2888 to mile point 0.33

·         A 0.17-mile section of Wexford Drive from Cork Avenue to mile point 0.17

·         A 0.16-mile section of Johnson Street from East Broadway Street to KY 627

·         A 0.12-mile section of Cork Avenue from mile point zero to mile point 0.12

·         A 0.12-mile section of Killarney Drive beginning at Wexford Drive and extending east

·         A 0.1-mile section of Kerry Drive from Cork Avenue to Killarney Drive

·         A 0.09-mile section of Edison Court beginning at Old Boonesboro Road and extending northwest
