City: Lexington Salt Supplies Solid

Lexington leaders say the city has 4,500 tons of salt on hand, and more on the way.
The first snow of the year was fairly uneventful, according to city leaders. And the city's stockpile of salt appears okay for the near future.

Albert Miller, acting director of the city's Division of Streets and Roads, says Lexington has 4,500 tons of salt on hand, with another 1,000 ordered. Miller says on average, the city uses 1,200 to 1,400 tons during a snow event.

Miller says Tuesday's snow was a good practice for the city, without causing any major challenges.
