Churchill Downs Not The Only Place In Kentucky To Watch Derby

More than 18,000 people packed Keeneland to watch the Derby.
More than 18,000 people packed Keeneland Saturday to watch the Run for the Roses.

Whether people picnicked in the paddock or enjoyed mint juleps in the Keeneland entertainment center...they could still keep up with the festivities at Churchill Downs with live coverage on more than 1,000 televisions.

While Louisville may seem like the place to be for derby, some people say they prefer Lexington because of the smaller crowds and a shorter travel.

Fans at the track in Lexington wagered more than $1.7 million dollars on the Derby.

Keeneland will be open Sunday at 8:00 am to cash winning tickets bought there and at 12:30 pm to cash winning tickets bought at Churchill Downs.
