Helping kids get ready for school was just one way the House of Prayer of Versailles gave back to their community today.

The church gave away school supplies in addition to hosting a health fair, concert, and other family games and activities.

There were also organizations on site teaching people how to be safe and healthy.

Organizers say the event was a response to the tragedies that have been happening in nearby communities and that meeting the mental and spiritual needs of individuals was just as important as physical ones.

Medtech, Woodford County Health Department, Versailles Police Department, and Drug Abuse Resistance Education were just some of the groups at the fair.
